John Merrington is a postgraduate student at All Souls College, Oxford and the Vice-President and Co-Head Editor of Kronos. His historical research seeks to address the problem of how early medieval Europeans conceived themselves as individuals within wider social and historical networks. He hopes to complete a doctorate on this topic and is considering a career in academia. He is convinced that history can be both accessible and thought-provoking for a wide variety of audiences, and seeks to put this principle into practice through his work with Kronos.
